From Abundance to
Industrial Advantage

Nigeria is the world's largest producer of cassava. Across its farmlands, millions of smallholder farmers cultivate the crop that feeds households and supports rural livelihoods. Cassava is not scarce. It is abundant.

Yet paradoxically, Nigeria continues to import industrial starch. This is not a production problem. It is a structure problem.

Despite vast cultivation, the cassava value chain remains fragmented. Smallholder farmers often lack structured offtake agreements, leaving them exposed to volatile open-market pricing and post-harvest losses. On the other end of the spectrum, manufacturers struggle with inconsistent quality, unreliable supply volumes, and limited access to locally processed Food-Grade starch.
